Gothic post punk queens Sonicave return with their latest EP - Big Dream 大梦归 - which finds the band making no concessions - self-producing the album themselves and writing for the first time in their native language. That theme of autonomy bleeds in their songs, as the band grapples with the cold uncompromising reality before them with uneasy brooding conviction and a taut yet full musicality that leans into the Gothic romance of it all whilst maintaining its post punk punch.

D.C. - The EVE
Post punk vivid in its shades and devilish appeal - Tianjin’s Division Control aka D.C. reminds listeners of the fun to be had in the genre with their latest EP ‘ The EVE’, released with Modern Sky’s TransMiB. Bombastic and without an ounce of subtlety, the release perfectly captures the band’s kinetic chaotic energy often seen in their live performances while highlighting their cock-eyed lyricism. It may be broadly invoking a grocery list of post punk greats, but it’s hard not to get swept up in its high-wire gusto.
